Larry Browning has had a passion for trails since childhood. He built his first trail as a solo effort without help, guidance, or YouTube videos as a teenager in the 1980s. Since then he has worked on the now legendary Galbraith mountain trail system in Bellingham, built trails as president of the Quimper Trails Association, and was Regional Coordinator for the Pacific Northwest Trail Association (PNTA) on the Olympic Peninsula. During his tenure at the PNTA he also served as Crew Leader to build a portion of the Olympic Discovery Trail Adventure Route (OAT).
In recent years Larry has shifted his trail building focus to enabling private property owners to realize greater enjoyment and value of their landscapes and formed Acorn Trail Works LLC in 2021.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Western Washington University, an M. A. in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics from the University of New Mexico, and a private pilot’s license from the FAA.
